This post comes from a recent Newsletter from Dr. Bauman that you can subscribe to here.
Hello, it’s Dr. Bauman.
Hair loss is often considered a “men’s health problem.”
And many women experiencing hair loss say, “I feel like I’m the only one with this problem.”
But I want you to know that’s not true. If you’re a woman experiencing hair loss, you are not alone.
In fact, almost 50 million American women suffer from some sort of hair loss. And about half of our patients here at Bauman Medical are women!
I’ve worked with thousands of female patients over the past 25 years, and what I can tell you is this:
Hair loss in women typically looks different than hair loss in men. And the causes are often different, too.
The women we treat often complain of excessive shedding, a loss of volume or coverage, receding hairlines or temples and sometimes loss of eyebrows or eyelashes.
Often, we uncover underlying medical conditions and other risk factors that affect hair follicle function.
So what can trigger or exacerbate hair loss in women? And more importantly, if you or a woman in your life is struggling with female hair loss, what can you do about it?
For answers to those questions and more, I invite you to join me next month at the FemTech Live Summit, hosted by Monika Szumilak.
FemTech Live starts Friday, October 7th, is online, and attendance is free.
I’ll be doing an interview with Monika Szumilak, the FemTech Organizer and Host, titled “Women’s Hair Loss: Causes and the Latest Effective Treatments”.

I am excited to have you join for this free, online event.
And I’m honored to be taking the stage with 25+ speakers including Dr. Elizabeth Yarnell, Dr. Michael Karlfedt, Dr. Evelyn Hecht, Sylvia Kang, and more.
These speakers will share strategies and solutions for common, frustrating women’s health issues like:
- Hormonal imbalance, brain fog, irritability, and sleeplessness
- Reproductive health issues, and pelvic pain
- Leaky bladder and persistent UTIs
- Menopause that is “out of control”
- Stress, exhaustion, and difficulty maintaining a healthy weight despite dieting and exercise
- And much more
If you want precise, accurate, and personalized solutions to your female health problems — everything from hair to hormones — then you’ll want to attend FemTech Live.
FemTech Live kicks off Friday, October 7th and because it’s a virtual event, you can attend from the comfort of your home or phone.
