Pro Bono Hair Restoration for Injured Military Veterans
In the course of combat and training, military service members can sometimes suffer life-altering accidents, trauma, and injuries that can include loss of limbs and disfigurement. These “Wounded Warriors,” of course, receive exceptional care from active-duty medical staff and surgeons often performing life-saving surgery and other interventions, like cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. However, disfiguring injuries can lead to emotional distress and an altered self-image over the long-term, which can carry over as they transition to civilian life.
Trauma, Injury, Burns, Scars on the Scalp or Face
Head trauma, scalp burns, scalp scars and other injuries can lead to hair loss on the scalp in addition to the disfiguring loss of eyebrows, eyelashes, and facial hair such as sideburns and beards.
The Bauman Philanthropic Foundation is keenly interested in helping discharged male or female military veterans who have been affected by hair loss due to trauma or injury during the course of serving this great country and connecting them with those who can adequately help restore their hair as well as self-confidence and self-esteem.
If you know an active-duty or discharged serviceman or servicewoman, Veteran, National Guard or Reservist who has been affected by hair loss on the scalp, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard or other areas, Bauman Medical offers a discounted consultation and evaluation with board-certified hair restoration physician Dr. Alan J. Bauman, M.D. to help them apply for financial assistance through the Bauman Philanthropic Foundation.
