The only way to restore living and growing hair is through hair transplant surgery.
Natural looking transplant surgery requires the use of artistically placed micrografts.
What Makes Us Different?
Bauman Medical Group uses follicular-unit micrografting…
“Large Sessions of Small Grafts”.
What Large Sessions of Small Grafts Mean to You:
• More hair can be restored in fewer sessions, using up to 3,000 grafts per session
• The hair looks natural, unlike previous “plug type” techniques
• Smaller grafts heal faster so you can quickly get on with your life.
What is hair transplant surgery?
Hair transplantation is a very safe, relatively minor surgical procedure involving removing a strip of natural hair-bearing skin from the back or sides of the scalp (Donor Area). The strip is then carefully dissected into micrografts (containing as little as a single hair). The donor area is then sutered and hidden by the surrounding hair. The micrografts are meticulously planted into the bald or thinning area of the scalp (Recipient Area). The creation of very small micrografts has allowed very natural, feathered hairlines to be grafted avoiding an abrupt, “pluggy look,” that was typical many years ago.
Within 24 hours small crusts will form on each graft wich are shed in approximately 7-10 days. The grafted hairs will often start to grow by 6-12 weeks after the procedure and have the potential to continue growing for a lifetime.* After surgery patients are provided with a mild analgesic to relieve any discomfort felt the night following the procedure.
Patients may be asked to use moist compresses or sprays and to sleep in a semi-upright position for 2-3 days following the procedure to minimize swelling. Small crusts that form on each graft may be camouflaged by any existing hair that can be combed over the recipient area.
