Hello , it’s Dr. Bauman.
If you’re a woman struggling with hair loss, there are a couple of things I want you to know.
First, you’re not alone.
Hair loss is often portrayed as a “men’s health problem”.
So much so, in fact, that many with thinning hair think, “Am I the only woman with this problem?”
But here’s the surprising truth:
By age 50, nearly half of all women will have noticeable hair loss.
So if you’re dealing with any kind of hair thinning, hair breakage, excessive shedding, or other forms of hair loss — you are not alone.
Second, hair loss in women typically looks different than hair loss in men. And the causes are often different too.
So what causes hair loss in women?
And more importantly, if you or a woman in your life is struggling with female hair loss, what can you do about it?
I’ve recorded a short video to help answer those questions:
If your ponytail is thinner than it was a year or two ago…
If your hair is coming out in clumps when you shower…
If the part in your hair is growing wider and showing more of your scalp…
If your scalp is red, flaky, itchy, or irritated…
Then you might be feeling worried, confused, and even sad.
As a hair surgeon, I’ve found that hair loss often impacts women emotionally more severely than it does men.
Don’t get me wrong:
Men often agonize over their hair loss, too.
But men do have bald role models like Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
And, it’s more socially acceptable for a man who’s losing his hair to shave his head and “go about his business” if that’s what he chooses to do.
That’s not as easy for women to do.
And that can make the situation more emotionally challenging.
The good news is that there are more effective treatment options available than ever before for female hair loss.
Something that sets Bauman Medical apart from most other hair restoration clinics is that nearly half of our patient base is female.
So we have unparalleled experience and expertise in treating female hair loss.
And if you’re struggling with hair loss, the first step in regaining control is sitting down for a private 1-on-1 consultation.
During your consultation (available both in-person and online), we’ll discuss your hair loss challenges.
We’ll “get to the root” of your hair loss and establish a diagnosis.
By digging deep into your health situation we can determine what might be impacting your hair.
If you’re in the office, we’ll measure your hair in multiple areas across the scalp.
We’ll look at “Before and After” pictures of Bauman Medical patients with hair loss patterns like yours.
We’ll look at all the treatment options available to you (many of which are only available here at Bauman Medical).
And we’ll create a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and goals.
Remember, female hair loss can be stopped and reversed.
And the sooner you take action, the sooner we can create a treatment plan that helps give you the results you desire and deserve.
