Boca Raton, Florida – Dr. Alan Bauman, a leading hair restoration expert and founder of Bauman Medical Hair Transplant and Hair Loss Treatment Center, will be speaking at the International Master Course on Aging Science (IMCAS) World Congress in Paris during the session entitled “The Future of Hair Restoration” on Friday, January 27th.
The 24th IMCAS World Congress brings together leading experts in the field of aesthetics and aging to discuss the latest advancements in technology and techniques. Dr. Bauman will share his expertise on breakthrough technologies such as TED Transepidermal Delivery using sonophoresis and PDOgro™ (PRP+PDO polydioxanone threads) for hair growth.
TED Transepidermal Delivery, also known as sonophoresis, is a cutting-edge technology that uses painless ultrasound to deliver a serum containing potent hair growth peptides and growth factors into the scalp. Launched last year in North America, this non-invasive in-office treatment can be used to treat hair loss, thinning, and alopecia.
PDOgro™, a combination of PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and PDO threads, is another new treatment for hair growth pioneered by Dr. Bauman that combines the benefits of both therapies. PDO threads are inserted into the scalp to stimulate collagen formation, new blood vessel formation production, and growth factor release, while dual-spin PRP is used to nourish the hair follicles. Together, these treatments can help to revitalize the scalp, increase blood flow, and promote hair growth.

FUTURE OF HAIR RESTORATION 2023
No discussion of the “Future of Hair Restoration” would be complete without mention of the dramatic advances that continue to occur in the realm of Regenerative Medicine. Encouraging the body to repair and rejuvenate using its own physiologic pathways and biosignals has enabled Hair Restoration Physicians to add to their armamentarium effective treatment modalities that do not require pharmaceuticals and their associated side effects.
Building upon the success of high-density/high-concentration dual-spin PRP Platelet Rich Plasma with biologic Extracellular Matrix products, Dr. Bauman was the first in North America to research, present, and demonstrate live the use of an FDA-cleared synthetic biodegradable extracellular matrix called PDO Polydioxianone as a stand-alone hair growth therapy and in combination with PRP. The use of PDO Polydioxanone threads has been previously described as a suture material (Middleton 1998), surgical mesh (Tang 2009), facial rejuvenation treatment in humans (Lee 2011), for hair regeneration in mice (Hyung-Sik 2015), and hair rejuvenation in humans (Bharti 2016, Bauman 2019).
Another emerging technology for non-surgical hair restoration and hair rejuvenation relates to the confluence of two technologies, the use of hair follicle chronobiologic biosignal growth factors and peptides, and a non-invasive ultrasonic delivery mechanism, sonophoresis. The recently launched AlmaTED platform (March 2022) uses sonophoresis—the transient disruption of the stratum corneum with ultrasound to deliver a proprietary non-pharmaceutical serum containing growth factors (e.g., VEGF, FGFa), peptides (e.g., Cu-GHK, ProhairinB), amino acids, antioxidants, and other ingredients into the areas of affected scalp during a painless half-hour treatment session without the use of needles for injection. Initial North American research and results were presented last year at the AAD (Dy 2022) and the Global Hair Loss Summit (Bauman 2022), with research is continuing in Boca Raton, FL, at Bauman Medical. The Trans-epidermal Delivery of the TED+ Hair Care Formula has been shown to reduce shedding, improve hair caliber in miniaturized hair follicles, improve terminal-to-vellus hair ratios, increase Hair Mass Index, and improve hair follicle pigmentation.
Dr. Bauman will present his updated techniques on the use of PRP+PDO for hair regeneration as well as the mechanism of action and updated results obtained from AlmaTED Trans-epidermal Delivery for hair regrowth at IMCAS 2023 in Paris in January.
