Biography:
Dr. Alan J. Bauman,
MD
Dr. Alan J. Bauman is the Founder,
Medical Director and Chief Surgeon of the Bauman Medical Group, P.A. located
in Wharfside at Boca Pointe in Boca Raton, Florida. His practice is dedicated
exclusively to treating male and female pattern hair loss. Dr. Bauman
uses state-of-the-art medical and surgical techniques to help his patients
maintain and/or restore their scalp hair.
Born in New Jersey, Dr. Bauman received his Bachelors of Science
degree in Psychobiology from the University of California, Riverside.
Dr. Bauman received his M.D. degree with special honors from New York
Medical College. He has had internship and residency training in General
Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center in
New York City before specializing in hair transplant surgery. During his
fellowship in microsurgical hair restoration, Dr. Bauman worked one-on-one
with his mentor, an innovator of highly advanced artistic hair transplantation
techniques in New York.
Dr. Bauman is an active member of the esteemed International
Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, sitting on the ethics and bylaws
committe as well as the American Society of Hair Restoration Surgery,
the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association and the
Palm Beach County Medical Society. In the spring of 1999, he was the featured
Hair Transplant physician on the broadcast television show "American
Health Front," seen on FOX-TV. Dr. Bauman is a co-author of several
textbooks on such topics as "Health Sciences Chemistry" and
the medical school admission process. He has also published several articles
on the current treatment of hair loss for the general public and physician
readers. His practice extends nationally as well as internationally, having
operated on patients from around the United States, as well as Europe
and South America.
Dr. Bauman and his wife, Karen, who is in charge of Patient Services in
his office, are permanent residents of Boca Raton. In his spare time,
Dr. Bauman enjoys playing the electric bass guitar and sits on the board
of the Players Club, the Boca Raton support group for the Florida Philharmonic
Orchestra. Dr. Bauman is also active in Boca Raton's Promise (a division
of General Colin Powell's America's Promise - the alliance for youth.
Dr Bauman is also involved with the America Cancer Society and the Little
Palm Family Theater.
